THE LORD＊S GRACE AND HIS CALLING
※I was cast upon You from birth. From my mother＊s womb You have been My God.§ (Psalm 22:10)
※＃＆You were thrown out into the open field ＃.. on the day you were born＃..When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath toyou and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,＊ says the Lord God.§ (Ezekiel 16:5,8)
※The Lord has called me from the womb; from the matrix of my mother He has made mention of my name.§ (Isaiah 49:1)
My Origin - An Abandoned Infant
In the autumn of 1914 three Methodist pastors were on their way home after attending the denomination＊s annual meeting in Fuzhou. As they were passing by an obscure lane in the city of Gutian, they heard the crying of an infant. Tracing the sound, they found a bamboo basket which held an infant girl with tears all over her face. That girl was me.
While two of the pastors had many children of their own, the third, Pastor Zheng, only had a son who had just passed away. Touched by the Lord＊s love, he adopted me, an abandoned infant. From then on, my last name was ※Zheng§.
As the Psalmist said: ※When my father and my motherforsake me, then the Lord will take care of me.§ Once I prayed like this, ※Lord, how much you love me! You＊ve loved me sincethe day I believed in you.§ Right away, I felt that I had to correct
myself, ※Lord, I was mistaken! You＊ve loved me not only since the day I believed but rather the day I was conceived.§ Once again, I corrected myself, ※Lord, I was mistaken again! Not since I was conceived, but even before the foundation of the world haveyou loved me.§ (Ephesians 1:4) Praise the Lord! That an abandoned child by the roadside could have become the daughter of a Lord＊s servant was no co-incidence but the amazing arrangement of the Almighty God.
